I've been trying to figure out how to move my account to democracy.town but I can't find anything in account settings to move to a new instance. Also, do I need to create a new account at democracy.town? No rush, whenever you have a minute to give me some help is fine.

Yes, first make your account here. Then go to Account>Edit Profile and put your old handle into "Moving from a different account" (the cloud handle)
You should get a message that says you successfully created an alias.
Then go to your cloud account and Account>Edit Profile and put your new democracy.town handle into "Move to a different account" with your cloud password.
All of your followers will move. You will need to refollow who you want and redo your bio here. 😊
